Essence I'd Send You A Blizzard Lip Oil

Today I'll be talking about the Essence Lip Oil (02 I'd Send You A Blizzard Lip Oil) from the Trend Edition Winter? Wonderful! that is available in stores until January 2016.

I must say that this is such an innovative and different product that it caught my eye the second I saw the previews.

This is what they say about it on the Essence site:
tinted love. lip oils are all the rage right now – they nourish the lips with valuable ingredients and make them feel wonderfully soft. thanks to the tint effect, the lips are additionally given a light or intensive pink touch.
I got the lip oil that has a slight pink tint to it, but there's another version of it that has a slight orange tint to it.

But I do think it doesn't really matter because the tint is so slight that it's hardly noticeable

When I first got it, it reminded me of the Catrice Lip Glow about which I wrote already here.
But after a regular use, I can say a bit more about my initial thoughts.

Design:

The packaging is lovely, sleek and shiny. There's a small "ring" which shows you the tint your lip oil has. Because it's so shiny it is prone to scratches but it does look divine.

Scent:

There is none. Not from the tube and none when applied on the lips. Big thumbs up for this!

These are my bare lips :)

I prefer using nourishing products at night because then they have more time to do their thing. As you can see, my lips are pretty "beaten up", the cold does them no good.

This is with one layer of the lip oil on - just one pump of the product and then I applied what was on the wand all over my lips.

+ Beautifully designed packaging
+ So shiny and sleek looking (and expensive)
+ Nourishing
+ inexpensive

- these aren't actually oils but are good anyway
- won't fix extremely broken lips
- the wand is small and thin and won't pick lots of products (I want more!)

Since I was already super excited about the Catrice's Lip Glow and I feel these are a very similar product, which is a non-sticky, nourishing lip gloss, I feel the same excitement about these too.
Of course, they won't fix your broken lips or anything similar, but they will help your lips stay protected under the cold wind of the Winter Days. And the non-sticky formula is always a plus too.
So, no, these may not be the classic lip oils, but are a fun product to play around. I do like them a lot and my only complaint is that they aren't part of the regular line.

Essence Winter? Wonderful! All Ice on Me palette

From December 1st, you can get the items from the Essence Winter? Wonderful! Collection
The Limited Trend Edition will be in stores from December 2015 to January 2016.

I got the palette and the lip oil from this collection, but today I'll be focusing on the palette.

This the official description:
baby, it’s cold outside! with the new trend edition “winter? wonderful!”, essence is warming your hearts and transforms the cold time of the year to a beauty season. and that's for sure: even the biggest opponents of low temperatures will find lots of winter stars!

frosty winter colours like white, blue and ice-grey meet upon warm nude tones like pink and light apricot, which unite to create a gorgeous colour scheme. the cool winter pieces include the four nail polishes with various effects such as “frosted” or “crystallized” as well as the lip oil with a subtle colour dispersion in light or intensive pink. the limited hand balm pampers dry hands and the mini pocket heat pack in the shape of an ice crystal makes sure that they stay nice and warm.

welcome to winter wonderland…

The palette comes in a quite nicely designed packaging. The snowflakes and the font are reflective (and thus hard to photograph) and look really nicely in person.

The palette contains 5 eyeshadows that at first I was quite doubtful about them.

The description goes:
cold meets hot! the eyeshadow palette in the five colours white, grey, pink and a light, as well as a dark brown with shimmering and matt effects, lets you create lots of different styles. lovingly decorated with snowflakes and ice crystals, the packaging is an eye-catcher, too.

I didn't like the combination of colors and thought they would be too harsh together. But after I swatched them I realized one thing. These colors are all very wearable. The light pink is a perfect nude base, the silver is great for light highlights, but the only downer is the light brown, that mostly comes off as gold/brown shimmer. I tried applying it wet, but I couldn't get much color payoff. It's a very gentle brown with gold micro shimmer and I had very high expectation for it.

On the arm swatch, it swatched really nicely, so it's probably just a combination with my brush?
All the eyeshadows are buttery and soft.

I did my makeup as regularly with this palette. This means, nude eyeshadow all over the lid, dark shadow in the crease, blended. Shimmery shadow on the center of the lid. Add eyeliner and mascara.
This time my eyeliner isn't all that great looking, sorry! The result? Something very wearable, practically a nude palette

I wore this look for the whole day and had no problems with creasing or anything similar.

And the last picture, even if you can't see my makeup - yay hooded eyelids, but people seem to enjoy such pictures ;D.

Will you get anything from this collection?
