I have been using Catrice's eyebrow pencils since they came out. At first, it was their regular eyebrow pencils but later it was the new, Slim'Matic pencils.
I think I got my first one from an event when they were launched. I was quite shocked at how thin these were. Ultra-thin. So thin I could draw single hairs with it...
And since I've been using them so much for so long, I think it's time to write my experience with them.
Catrice Slim'Matic Waterproof Brow Pencil
Create the perfect eyebrows that will last from morning until night, whatever you are up to – that includes sports and swimming. The Catrice Slim'Matic water-resistant eyebrow pencil with a thin tip enables you to draw the shape of your eyebrow as well as individual hairs precisely, giving you a natural look that is resistant to both water and perspiration.
The pencil is extra thin and it feels luxurious because of how well it's made. On one side there's a spoolie and on the other, there's the retractable eyebrow pencil. The pencil is ultra-thin. It doesn't need any sharpening because of its size it stays finely thin.
- defines the eyebrow and gives it a polished look
- provides perfect eyebrow styling in moments
- the fine tip allows you to fill in your eyebrows precisely
- water-resistant, long-lasting formula
- includes a practical brush
APPLICATION
My eyebrows are thin, soft and pretty long. They aren't yet coarse (probably it will come with age?). And usually, they are light blonde, but on the photos, they are a tad darker because about 2 weeks ago I dyed my brows.
Here's a BEFORE picture. They look like this when I wake up.
The messy mascara is just part of the look. :D Haha, just kidding. It's not. I applied it in a hurry and wasn't too precise with it.
And AFTER.
I like to use the eyebrow pencil to colour in my brows and then with the spoolie I brush out the colour to make it more even.
It gives a harsher look, but I do like harsh brows. I could use the pencil to slowly draw in the hair for a more natural look.
When I last went to the drugstore I picked up two new Slim'Matic brow pencils. And that's just because I wasn't sure which colour do I use.
There were three to choose from in the drugstore but more than 5 different shades on Notino.
Beauty TipWith the Slim'Matic Ultra Precise Brow Pencils, you can either accentuate the eyebrows only slightly or create a particularly eye-catching effect. Areas where the hairs grow more sparsely can be filled in with the fine tip. Depending on your preference, the eyebrows can also be brought into the desired shape or visibly broadened.
You can see how thin these are. Super thin, perfect for precise work!
The ash brown seems to be the same colour their regular eyebrow pencil that I used before - Date with ASHton which was later changed to Never be ASHamed.
That was the shade that suited me but honestly, even this dark one is nice because it's cool-toned and it doesn't crash with my skin tone.
PROS:
+ One of the most precise eyebrow pencils on the market
+ Good packaging - it's sturdy and pretty!
+ Comes in 7 different shades
+ IS waterproof!
+ Inexpensive (about 3€)
+ Easy to use
CONS:
- Gets used up quickly
The extra thin eyebrow pencil tip
The very handy spoolie aka eyebrow brush
OVERALL:
I've been using the Slim'Matic Waterproof Brow pencil for so long that I forgot to write about it. I repurchased it several times and found it great. Purchase after purchase. I like how precise it is, but most of all how soft it is once it touches the skin - which means that it glides easily on the skin. It doesn't tug or pull. And because of that its's easy to make precise movements, lines.
It gets used up quickly - when I used it daily for filling in I would go through one a month. The combination of smooth formula with a small tip does that. But now I use it more or less to draw the shape of my brows and then fill it in with a powder product. Or if I'm in a hurry, I do fill my whole brow with it. Either way, I make it last a bit longer.
I enjoy the fact that it is waterproof. I can go swimming with it or do sports. But when it comes in contact with oils it does tend to melt off.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and I will keep repurchasing it.
