I am so excited to show you a sunscreen that you can get at most drugstores (and even regular stores!). One which price varies from mildly expensive to inexpensive - depending on where you're getting it. But for now, the cheapest option I found was on Notino.
The texture feels similar to most of the Asian sunscreens. If I think really hard it reminds me of their milky sun lotions. And that's fine as they are the easiest to wear. Especially for those that are new to sunscreen wearing. I remember when I first started wearing sunscreen daily, how annoying it was. How heavy and irritating. Well, fret no more. There's a new kid on the block!
Garnier Ultra-Light Sensitive Face Fluid SPF50+
A simple sunscreen that comes in a bottle with a bottleneck that makes it easy to dispense.
The bottle contains 40ml of product which for me came to about a month of daily use. Because it's so light I had no problem reapplying it over makeup. I usually don't reapply but this time it was just too easy so there was no excuse.
There's one fun thing about it - the UVA protection it offers is great! It's pretty high; 20+. That's one important factor to look for when you're buying sunscreen. I mean we would like it to be effective against those pesky ageing rays (UVA), too.
- Ultra-light fluid texture, matt finish, invisible on the skin
- Face sun cream, enriched with Hyaluronic Acid, hydrates skin for 24 hours
- Anti-UV and anti-pollution
- Hypoallergenic, dermatologically tested
- Suitable for sensitive eyes
The fluid is light - milk-like. It spreads easily and is easy to apply. During application, it has a pretty strong alcoholic scent, so it may not be for those that have skin sensitivities. Luckily for me, my skin isn't sensitive and I could use it without a problem.
Developed for the face and the delicate eye contour area, our UV Face Fluid is an ultra-light daily sun protection that is quickly absorbed.
PROS:
+ High SPF
+ Good UVA protection (20+)
+ Very light fluid, similar to Asian sun milk
+ Easy to use / lightweight
+ Easy to reapply as it's so watery
+ Doesn't leave a film as it sinks right into the skin
+ Absorbs bizarrely quickly
+ Can get it cheaply (Notino - 7€) or for a bit more in stores (11€)
+ Applicator is great, easy to get the sunscreen out
CONS:
- I used it up quickly (1 month)
- you can smell the alcohol in it
OVERALL:
This is my favourite sunscreen from our drugstores. It's lightweight, easy to apply and reapply and is easily available. It's also comparable to the amazing Korean and Japanese sunscreens. I mean they know what they did when they formulated this sunscreen.
I am a big fan and will definitely repurchase it. The biggest drawback is the strong alcohol scent it has, but luckily that dissipates in a minute or two after application. But other than that, I just wish it came in a bigger bottle. One of 120ml would be ideal. So I would have it for three months instead of one. :D
