It's Christmas time, woo! |
December is the time of glitters - glitter in your hair, glitter on your clothes, on your eyelids and lipsticks. It's practically everywhere! If you love it or not is your personal choice, but you can't really hide from it.
This time I want to talk about the Makeup Revolution Pressed Glitter Palette in Abracadabra. It's a fun palette made entirely of glitter. It comes in several versions which are defined by a different colour palette. I got the one with the most variety of colours (at least that's what I think) - Notino kindly sent it to me.
Let's see how it worked for me.
Makeup Revolution Pressed Glitter Palette
With 9 shades of glitter, you can make any makeup look pop out more. But of course, you need the right eyeshadow base. Something tackier or a bit greasier. I used my old but beloved Pixie Epoxy.
Shine anywhere you are! Whether you’re headed to a festival, a Halloween party, or a New Year’s bash, or you simply need a bit more shine in your life – we have a solution. The Makeup Revolution Pressed Glitter Palette offers an exciting experience to both you and people around you.
I created a "daily" makeup look with one of the colours (Witchcraft). I did a simple base makeup underneath (matte) and then added a dab of Pixie Epoxy and over it the glitter. On the first photo, I'm wearing the colour Illusion (bright red) with a tad of Fortune Teller (rose pink with golden).
I wore the look for a whole day and except for some light fallout (during application) I did manage to keep all the glitter on!
- includes 9 intense shades of glitter
- helps you achieve a striking makeup look
- you can use the shades individually or together
- gives your eye makeup the right spark
The beauty of the Makeup Revolution is that it's inexpensive. This palette costs less than 13€. The pans are pretty big as in so big you'll need a year just to use one of them. Plus it's vegan and cruelty-free.
The palette itself comes in a glittery cardboard packaging that closes nicely. It looks sturdy and the glitter doesn't shift inside. It's densely packed in it. I usually don't wear this sort of glitter makeup, but for December there's no better thing.
Pros:
+ inexpensive (~13€)
+ you get 9 colours in a palette
+ there are 5 varieties of the palette
+ with the right primer, the glitter stays put the whole day
+ the glitter is waterproof (but still easy to remove)
+ the brand is cruelty-free
Cons:
- if you don't have the right base for the glitter, you should be wary - there may be some fallout and glitter may get into your eyes (and that's never a good thing!)
Overall:
I wish I had a stickier glitter base (but I will get one) so I could easily create amazing glitter looks. I mean, this was pretty straightforward but still. With the right base (I read that the MUR Glitter Glue is perfect for this job), everything is easier. But with mine I got some glitter stuck on my fingers; as I love applying glittery stuff with my fingers and the glitters just scream to be played with. But even with this small setback, I enjoyed creating and wearing this glittery look. I'm sure I'll create some more during the month - follow me on Instagram and see for yourself. Other than that, I'm impressed with the glitters. They are super fun!
