I was sent this Bourjois lipstick by Notino for review purposes.
And since I haven't tried a Bourjois lipstick before I was excited. I once got to try a liquid lipstick that was okay-ish, but nothing extraordinary. But hopefully, this classic bullet lipstick would do better than that.
I got a classic red lipstick in the colour named 11 Cindered-lla. I'm a fan of witty names. They make me remember the products better.
Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux Cindered-lla
The Bourjois Rogue Fabuleux lipstick emphasises your lips beautifully and highlights day and evening makeup perfectly.
The lipstick comes in a bullet that is a bit wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. It has a bit of weight to it which makes it feel luxurious. You can see the colour at the bottom so if you have a bigger collection it's easier to find your chosen colour.
The lipstick itself has an interesting shape - which makes it easier to apply.
The Bourjois Rouge Fabuleux in Cindered-lla has also a gentle rose scent. I enjoy it but I know that there are people who don't like this sort of scents. But I prefer it to vanilla-scented lipsticks.
The shape of the lipstick makes it easier to apply even on my uneven lips - it doesn't feel bulky during application and it glides just right on.
I really love how pigmented the lipstick is. One swype and bam! now your lips are covered in this amazing bright red colour. I love it!
I know it says that it's easy to wash off but it's not. I swatched it on my hand and went to wash it off 5 minutes later with warm water and soap. It didn't get off fully. I needed to scrub lightly to get it completely off.
The lipstick has a creamy texture and on the lips, it feels really light. It feels like nothing at all. Actually, I can compare it to something - to my favourite lip stains (velvety lipstick) which don't feel like much on my lips. That's what it is like. Other people can see you have a WOW colour on your lips, but you can't feel it.
It does survive drinking but eating is questionable. I ate some oily stuff and the lipstick at the centre of my lips was gone but everything else stayed intact. That was interesting.
I'd still say that it needs to be reapplied after eating but not after drinking. However, it does leave prints on glasses. And skin.
Pros:
+ love the colour!
+ has a light rose scent
+ very light feeling on the lips
+ nice, creamy texture that glides easily
+ longlasting (if I don't eat, that's it)
Cons:
- won't survive eating
- pricey at £9.32/8,90€
Overall:
I think I found my new favourite formula of lipsticks from out drugstore brands. I never gave much thought to Bourjois lipsticks but now I know they are worth trying. This is a newer formula and I really like it. It feels like I'm not wearing anything on my lips and the colour payoff is just out of this world. It applies evenly and it's super rich. I'm in love!
