If you're reading CherryColors for a long time, you may know that I am a big fan of Avon's lipsticks. Especially their renewed Mark. line.
I have talked about their Epic line and their Pump it lipsticks. But if we go further into time, I talked why about 5 reasons why you need their lipsticks.
This time I received three very bold colours - three unusual colours that were screaming my name.
I am always impressed when people kind of just "get" what colours I may like.
They are: Be Loud, Spellbound and a lipstick topper in Sparkle on. Let's see how they look.
Three BOLD lipsticks from Avon
You may know that I love the formula of the Epic lipsticks. It's creamy, easy to apply and just glides on your lips. Plus the wear time is pretty darn long and they feel very comfortable. I mean, they are perfectly creamy lipsticks!
I got three shades to play with - all three of them bold. One of them is the same colour than the other (Sparkle on), except it contains a bunch of glitters. It is also a tad warmer.
Here's a swatch of them. The glitter is sheerer than the other two.
Avon Epic Lipstick in BE LOUD
This one is really loud. A bold, hot pink lipstick. It's very much in your face and there is no easy way to wear this discreetly. No way.
One layer is enough to get a fully opaque look.
It reminds me of the 80's when I still wasn't born. But I saw pictures and it looks like something they would wear. And well, I'm definitely wearing pink lipsticks and this one is no exception.
The lipstick is very comfortable to wear but you have to be precise during application (I wasn't) as it leaves a slight stain behind.
The pigmentation is out of this world and I think it's the best of all three. It has a slightly cool undertone which gives me a slight "awake" look.
Avon Epic Lipstick in SPARKLE ON
This one is a lipstick topper but it can be worn alone. It's a very glittery lipstick that has a slight warm undertone.
I applied it over the Be Loud lipstick and it gave a bold, a tad warm fuchsia look. It was much more comfortable to wear it over a lipstick rather than alone.
For the photos, I wore it alone.
After application, you can feel the glitter on your lips. It's not irritating as the formula is still very creamy, but you just know it's there.
Because it's a topper it is a tad sheerer than the other lipsticks.
I do enjoy it over other lipsticks but I don't think I'd wear it alone because of the chunky glitter.
I know it's hard to see on full-face pictures which lipstick is which because they are very similar, but in real life, it was easier to distinguish the difference.
Avon Epic Lipstick in SPELLBOUND
This is a lipstick I was a tad scared to use. I mean, the other two stained my lips but what would this one do? So yes, I was a bit hesitant to use it, to say the least.
This is a medium, cool-toned violet. It's also pretty hard to apply it evenly as the formula is creamy, sheer and glides on. Because of, that it's hard to go over some places more than once.
I couldn't apply it nicely for the life of me. Plus I got a slight stain from the lipstick before, but the pink ring around the violet is not from it. It's from the pink in the violet. I think this lipstick needs to be used with a lip brush. I don't think I even own any.
I am also not a fan of how it looks on me. But I think it may come in handy for Halloween. I wonder what I can create with it?
THE STAIN
All the lipsticks stain the lips like mad. I don't mind it as I am a fan of lip stains. And truthfully do stain the lips. I wore each for about 10 minutes and the results are on the pictures below. Wow!
I am pretty impressed with the formulation of these lipsticks.
I like the most the hot fuchsia pink one (Be loud) as it has the nicest formulation and colour of all three. Plus it's a damn good lipstick with a good longevity. Although none of them will survive eating and drinking for long enough for them to compare them to matte lipsticks.
For creamy lipsticks these are amazing. I mean the line, not these exact shades as interestingly enough these three don't really match the rest of the line. The Be Loud is bolder and the Sparkle On, sparklier and the Spellbound is just a tad too sheer for my liking.
But I have to applaud to Avon for bringing us such crazy, bold colours with good, non-drying formula.
*I received the products from the PR of the company. My opinions are always honest.
