It's been a while since I wrote an 18+ blog post. I remember that day as if it was yesterday. I was anxious about how it will perform. Well, it did well. I am glad about that. If you are curious which post it was - it's the Lelo Lily 2.
Today I have another special review for you all - about the Lelo Sona. When I first saw it I thought it was a copy of the Womanizer (I wrote about it here), but I was wrong. Come and join me and see why it's a completely different type of beast.
LELO Sona
SONA stimulates the entire clitoris - even the parts you don’t see - with gentle sonic waves instead of conventional vibrations. This whisper-quiet sonic massager offers an entirely new orgasm, a prolonged climax after a sensual build-up. Its smooth, waterproof design is made from a single piece of premium silicone, making SONA incredibly easy to clean and soft to the touch. And because it doesn’t directly contact the clitoris, it can be used to generate multiple orgasms over and over again without any discomfort.
This package came as beautifully packaged as the last one. Lelo surely knows how to make opening a package an enjoyable experience.
IN THE PACKAGE YOU GET
♡ SONA
♡ USB Charger
♡ Satin Storage Pouch
♡ Warranty Registration Card
♡ Detailed Instruction Manual
♡ A small pocket of personal lube
I got mine in hot pink (Cerise) but you can find it also in black and pink.
This one doesn't come scented (why it would?) and once you open the box, you're almost ready to go. All you need to do is charge it. It should be charged in about 2 hours.
SONA is a sonic clitoral massager. That means it doesn’t rely on vibrations like a conventional sex toy. Instead, it uses sonic waves and pulses to stimulate the entire clitoris – not just the external part you can see and touch.
What I noticed first is how bulky it is. I expected something as small as the Lily 2 is, but Sona is still small enough that it fits in my palm comfortably.
WATERPROOF
SONA is 100% waterproof. So if you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, your chariot has arrived. It’s also makes it super easy to clean. SONA is made from a single piece of silicone, and this one-piece design keeps it watertight – even at the charging socket. Perfect for the bath, shower or hot tub.
The stimulator is also waterproof and if you're into that sort of play, it's pretty amazing for that. As I read from their manual they suggest using it in a hot bath for extra sensations and techniques. Sounds like fun!
Once I charged it lasted me for several weeks of play. Depending on your use it may last between a month or more of regular use.
I decided to compare it to the Womanizer as the idea is pretty similar.
- The Womanizer has a lipstick design and Sona has a really sleek design. I prefer the Sona's.
- The Womanizer can get messy to clean if used with lube (it has a hole that needs to be cleaned as it may suck the lube in), while the Sona doesn't have any extra holes as the suction part is made on one piece. That makes it completely waterproof and easy to clean. In that regards I prefer Sona.
- The Womanizer has several different settings and they vary from quite gentle (OH!) to OMG MAKE IT STOP while Sona has 8 different settings varying from TOO MUCH to probably some more. Sona is a pretty intense toy. In that regard, I prefer the Womanizer.
- The Sona is way quieter than the Womanizer.
I think the Womanizer and Sona are two different products that are special in their own way. But if I had to pick just one to use for the rest of my life, I'd go with Lelo Sona. Not because this is a review of it, but because it took me less time to learn to love it. It may have been that Womanizer prepared me for the use of Sona, but now I seldom pick it up.
+ lovely design
+ waterproof
+ silent until it comes in contact with skin (then it's a bit louder but still pretty silent)
+ has 8 different settings
+ pleasant to use
- expensive
- the intensity may be a bit too much for some
I've had a couple of months of play time with this toy before I wrote this review. I loved it after the first use and I really wanted to make sure that my thoughts wouldn't change it before I was ready to talk about it.
It gets the job done and I'd recommend it even to newbies. I mean, if I had to pick just one toy to use for the rest of my life (and I love toys) it would definitely be this one. It's pretty, so if you're into displaying your toys, it's definitely a plus. It is also a pretty intensive toy but at Lelo, they recommend to start slowly, without direct contact to build up the moment/excitement. So there's that.
I would also suggest to not overdoing it. If you overdo it (45min+), you'll feel the pain for a couple of days compared to a couple of hours with other toys. So a word of caution is a must.
You can get it from Lelo's site for 149€ (sometimes it's on sale for 99€ and once I saw it for 65€).
