Dear Santa! all christmas wish lists are received and santa's hardworking elves are doing everything in their power to prepare the perfect surprise. the result: the new trend edition “the little x-mas factory”, which will make all your beauty dreams come true. classical colors like gold or pine green are combined with cool pink.the absolute x - m u s t s are the eyeshadow palette, two mini hand creams with christmassy fragrances and the “shimmering stars”.
These are the words Essence uses to describe their new Trend Edition for the upcoming season.
I decided to test a couple of products and see if they are worth to be picked up on your next shopping trip in town.
I know that Christmas is still not for a month and a little bit, but I wrote this article for all of you that like to pick your gifts before the havoc begins since Essence hurried up and already put their Xmas collection in stores.
ESSENCE EYESHADOW PALETTE - North pole express delivery
melting away! the eyeshadow palette with five shimmering colors creates stunning eye make-up styles – and the pressing pattern on the texture is sure to make your heart melt, too.
I really like the sleek plastic design of this palette. It's beautiful and very sturdy especially compared to the regular Essence palettes. It looks more expensive, prettier and better made.
But how are the shadows?

Because of the beautiful (and compact) packaging, I had hoped that the eyeshadows would be more pigmented. I swatched them on bare skin, without any primer.
The eyeshadows aren't really pigmented. There are 5 eyeshadows all of them are shimmery. 3 are sheer and 2 somehow pigmented. Truth to be told, they aren't all that great.
I like mostly the dark rose shadow and the gold shadow, but they didn't want to show up on my eyelid, that's why I used them as a highlight on the center of my lid.
I managed to create a makeup look with them that I did enjoy, but only because at the end I was so fed up with the application of the eyeshadows, that I did a wet application. That worked.
I had high hopes for the palette but since I'm now only keeping the products that really work for me, I decided to pass it on.
ESSENCE GOLD LIQUID EYELINER - HO-HO-HO
golden times! the liquid eyeliner with a long applicator creates golden eyeliner styles for a glamorous look.
I always wanted a golden eyeliner. Seriously! The ones I had were never pigmented enough or had glitter inside. But this time at Essence's they came out with a pure gold eyeliner. It's cool toned, so there's no yellow hues in it!
It's nicely pigmented tho the formula is watery and on darker shadows, you may need to apply it twice. I don't have a problem with that since it's easy to use (applies like a dream).
The downside is that it's not waterproof. It would be my to-go eyeliner if it would have been waterproof. Why waterproof you may ask yourselves. It's because my eyelids are oily and my eyes tend to water from time to time. That's not a good combo on its own, but add some makeup in it and you've got yourself a mess or a bad-looking makeup.
I think it's a decent gold eyeliner, but there's room to improve.
ESSENCE LIP BALM - Merry kissmas
happy holiday! the lipbalm in a small tub provides the lips with moisture and a hint of color in subtle rosé.
It's a lip balm in a lovely pot. A Christmas themed pot. Cute. It has a pleasant scent and it doesn't feel heavy on the lips (like if it were just vaseline with a bit of color). I am not sure about long-lasting effects because I only tested if for a couple of hours and it was fine.
Pretty unexciting if you ask me, but at the same time it's a decent product.
Finished look + Milani Amore liquid lipstick in Covet.
