Whenever I take a shower I feel like I am having the time of the day with some relaxing products. I feel like I am in a SPA setting and everything will be great, from the shower on.
Well, of course for a great shower you need great products and not just water, no?
Well, read on and discover which and why are my top 5 products to shower with (and nourish my skin after).
The list is short and sweet:
- Afrodita 3 Active Intimate Wash
- DT Juicy Orange Shower Gel
- Alpstories Organic Shampoo Aloe Vera
- Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor
- Afrodita Body Mousse - Strawberry Scent
Now let's start with the first one, let me tell you why I put it into my top 5 products to shower with post. Yes, why?
This picture is here just for your eyes. I didn't have anywhere else to put it, but I really wanted to use it in this post ;).
Official description: Thanks to its advanced 3-active formula the wash is active at three levels, enabling: 1. gentle cleansing, 2. a soothing moisturising effect which helps create and maintain a natural pH balance, and 3. simple shaving of intimate parts. The rosemary extract has a mild antiseptic effect and prevents the skin from drying out, while the oil complex protects the skin during and after shaving.

Well, whenever I would use the wrong kind of an intimate wash (like with that extra ingredient that is supposed to be antibacterial but did really mess everything up, Chilly intimate washes anyone?) I would get really annoying irritations and similar problems (infections anyone?). Luckily this intimate wash is gentle and kind. Smells nice, not too strong - kind of fresh. I can say it also works for shaving, but I like it for the gentle wash it provides to my intimates. I don't know why I had in mind that the price is about 7€ when I just checked it and it's 3.7€. That's a lot better. So much better that this brand may become my staple in intimate washes! Hooray!

*DT Juicy Orange Shower Gel

You know how I couldn't stand the Coconut version? Yes? Anyway, I was worried it would be the same with this version. Well, luckily it's not like that. This time, I feel like I am showering with a pressed orange. Is that a good or a bad thing? I don't know, but it doesn't make me want to run out of the shower ;). The scent is strong but it doesn't bother me. The gel also lathers up very nicely and cleanses my skin. I like that it doesn't contain silicones, parabens, synthetic colorants and mineral oils.

Well, truth to be told, I've been quite confused about the meaning of Eco, Bio, Organic labels lately. Simply because so many brands put the certificate as a badge of honor even if they don't have it. You know? It irks and confuses me at the same time. Anyway, this brand has the Organic certificated by ECOGRUPPO ITALIA. I bought this shampoo because even if I am not too fond of Aloe Vera (we have it at home, it ... just kind of is there), I know a girl who won't stop raving about it. It's Monika, of course, it's her ;). And since I had a really poor scalp as in full of painful cystic acne that I had no idea where they came from and why (dairy products couldn't be blamed this time), I knew I had to ditch my regular line of hair products I was using. So, I purchased this shampoo in Hofer, but I was still feeling kind of a cheapskate, I mean it was 10€. I don't pay that much for stuff I am not exactly sure it will work for me. Especially not hair stuff. Anyway, I bought it and since then I've been using it every single time I wash my hair. It's a gentle shampoo, but after use, my hair is super soft. It makes my wavy, naturally dry hair soft. That's like magic to me. It cleanses well and smells delicious. I am on its last drops and I'm already weeping with sadness. What is this magic?! Where have you been all my life?!

I always liked the way Aussie talked about their products. With passion and joy. They make it seem like using their products takes you to an adventure. And so it may be because during the 3 minutes you have to wait for the mask to "work" you can do whatever you feel like. I usually use the extra time to use a scrub or do some magic with a razor. The downside is the silicones in the deep conditioner but I don't mind since I use it only on the ends of my hair and only from time to time. Whenever I want my curls to be more defined and unified. The upside is the effect. Curls seem to love it!

*AFRODITA Body Mousse - Strawberry Scent
Official description: The gentle downy texture with added cocoa butter deeply moisturises the skin and prevents it from drying out. When applied, vitamin E microcapsules melt gently into your skin, protecting it from premature ageing. The result is nourished, silky soft skin, veiled in the delicious fragrance of sweet strawberries. It is easily absorbed and leaves no unpleasant greasy sensation.

I am one of those people that never used body creams. Really. And I suffered from severely dry and itchy skin after every single shower. It was even worse during colder months. And I still couldn't get myself to apply a body lotion after showering. Almost until I got this little gem. It smells like strawberry yoghurt and feels like a buttery mousse. The application is fun as it makes small bubbly sounds while I am spreading it around. The beads are ok, they do dissolve but sometimes I do find them on the skin after application. All I have to do then is press a little bit harder and poof, they're gone. But let's go to the effect. My skin feels buttery and soft and also smooth after I use it. And not for just an hour or two. No! The effect lasts until the next shower (I usually take showers every 2 days). And the most surprising effect it has on the feet. Seriously. I tried ti use it on the feet because a beauty blogger said that whenever she uses it, her feet are soft for days! Well, I tried it and loved it. It is true. Surprisingly, it is true. My normally rough heels became soft and smooth. Well, not completely smooth, it takes a while to get them to that, but soft, yes! It's an unexpected surprise that really made my day. And because of all these features I love, love, love it!
So, if I can't afford or don't have the time for a day at the spa, all I have to do, is take a shower. ;)
In summary, to this post, I'd say that I use these products for the following reasons
1. So I feel clean and cleaned ;)
2. To make my shower smell like freshly squeezed oranges :D
3. Soft hair for days! =)
4. Curls, curls and curls again! Oh yeah!
5. Buttery, soft skin that smells like strawberries. Yum!
