Melvita came out with a new product that is meant to reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eyes. And since my workdays have been long and my sleep was light, I thought I was the perfect candidate to test it.
Of course, I'm talking about the new roll-on with CORNFLOWER FLORAL WATER.
MELVITA ICE-FRESH ROLL-ON FOR UNDEREYES
Field cornflower is known for its soothing action on tired skin around the eyes. Rich in cornflower floral water, this fresh-textured care helps to revive the eye contour and contributes to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. The roll-on format makes it easy to massage the eye area, the look is rested immediately after application.
Visible results:
67% of women said their puffiness are visibly reduced.*
Well, I'm always sceptical when it comes to new product and especially when it comes to undereye creams. I mostly think they are just a regular cream packaged in a smaller bottle with a higher price tag.
Of course, I was proved wrong once before (by The Ordinary Caffeine Solution), and I was hoping for something similar this time around.

THE PACKAGING
The roll-on comes in a sleek cardboard box that looks pretty fresh and blue. It has a bit of a retro feel to it which is a look that Melvita uses for their packaging and I am digging it. It's lovely.
The tube in the packaging comes with a metal roll-on which makes life so much easier. Especially in the wee hours of the day.
The first couple of uses I had no idea if I got any product out since all I could feel was this amazing coldness under my eyes. Yes, I like the roll-on, did you notice? But after some squeezing (once not so lightly) I realized that it works just fine, it's I that am a bit clueless in the morning.
I like to pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes before my morning use. Eh, who am I kidding? I forgot it in the fridge a couple of times and it was extra cold.
HOW TO USE IT?
Apply morning and evening, gently massaging from the inner corner of the eye toward the temple. Press lightly to stimulate microcirculation. To enhance the fresh sensation, store product in the fridge from 5 to 10 minutes before use.
+ Lovely packaging design
+ the tube is sturdy and survives some vigorous sqeueezing
+ has no scent
+ is easy to use
+ has a cooling effect
- double packaging (not really that good for the environment)
- didn't do anything else for me than cooling
- expensive (cca 12€ for 12ml)
WHAT DO I THINK?
Well, I don't have puffy or dark under eyes so I can't really talk about that claim that was tested on such a small control group (Consumer use test on 24 volunteers after 4 weeks). But what I can talk about is what it did for me.
I have a deep crease under my eyes and some wrinkles are starting to show up. That makes concealer application a bit tricky since it usually settles in the crease. I was hoping this eye cream would work on that.
Sadly it did not so it was just this expensive roll-on (~12€) that cooled the underneath my eyes.
I do enjoy the cooling sensation that wakes me up, but I think you could get a similar product for far less money. If you have puffy eye circles your experience may differ, but for me it sadly did nothing.
*I received the products from the PR of the company. My opinions are always honest.
